Begin here

So..you think you have been bullied? You think you might be a bully?
Either way - you are right.
There is no one who is innocent - not one. There is no one that is safe - not one.
That does not mean we can't slow it down - and finally stop it.

I am a teacher at a small rural district - we have bullies. Its not just you. Its not where you live. Its not even your school - its everywhere.
That is why we started this blog. To help. You can slow this down - together we can stop it.
How?
Make people aware - that's it. No tricks, not clever plan, nothing like that.
As soon as we decide we are not going to be bullied and not going to allow bullies around us, it will stop. Really. It is that simple.

1. Define the problem - what is bullying?
2. Describe the problem - where and when does bullying happen?
3. Remember bullying is a choice a behavior - not a person
4. Agree that it is unacceptable behavior - a bad choice - this sounds obvious but it is not
4. Talk about it - spread the word
5. Help find a strategy that works for where it is happening - keep after it
6. Keep growing the areas that bullying is not allowed - eventually there will be no bullying

  1. 1. The legal definition of "bullying" is...which almost always includes the intent to harm or hurt the target, can come in the form of:
    A. Written or verbal expression (including electronic means)
    B. Physical contact
    C. Deliberate
Texas law defines "bullying" under TEC. 25.0342.
2.The description of the problem is vast and can vary from situation to situation. The problem is in the conduct of individuals towards other individuals. As you can surmise by the legal definition "bullying" can happen ANYWHERE, ANYTIME.
    3. YES it is!
    4. In talking about the behavior and educating all parties involved (students, parents, teachers, and administrators), one can help identify when the action occurs, and stop it.
5.The BEST strategy is consistency, and awareness. Many acts of "bullying" go unreported. This is dangerous and leads to very destructive, and sometimes violent behavior by the victim.
    6. THIS IS A BULLY FREE ZONE!!
